Strong independent woman

You call yourself
A strong independent woman
But strong independent women
Is a ticket to a lonely living in delusion Independence is illusion
Strong and independent is a misaligned fusion
Of two concepts that really cannot co exist
Independence is a weakness
Tighten muscles in a clenched fist
Always ready to fight back, ready to protect
Stiffened back, alert, on guard
Big words in loud voice demanding of respect

Interdependance, being in dependence
Of another
Oh how wonderful to know that you can always trust to be supported
of a sister or a brother
And lets a be honest, how much of a day would you be able to conquer alone
Without others being there to build your home
To plant and harvest grains, transform them into bread
Without the support of others how long before you would end up dead?

I want to be interdependent, relate in a way
Where what you need and my desires
have an equal say.
